Beginners Series for New Students
Grow Yoga welcomes new students of all types. Because yoga works slowly over time to heal and awaken the body-mind, it's important that new students have a complete introduction. Thus, we highly recommend that new students attend one of our Beginners Series courses.
We have two styles of Beginner Series (8 week courses):
Ashtanga Beginners Yoga Series
An eight week course for new students in good fitness. This instructional series teaches the poses of the Ashtanga Modified Primary Series, a vigorous and aerobic practice, well-suited for athletic types. Students new to yoga will be introduced to yoga philosophy, the connection of breath and movement, and proper postural alignment. More experienced students will deepen their existing practice. Each class introduces new poses and reinforces those learned in past weeks. Students are encouraged to support their instruction by attending at least one additional Ashtanga drop-in class each week
Hatha Beginners Yoga Series
Hatha Yoga series is well-suited to those who want a slower and more detailed approach to learning yoga postures. This course includes an introduction to the connection of breath and movement as well as proper alignment in all postures and some yoga philosophy. Practicing Hatha Yoga builds strength and flexibility and is a wonderful way to de-stress for those students who have hectic schedules.
